A selection of examples from young people who have taken part in Stepping Stones Creative projects

Association Assouketene Batik
As part of our connection with our partners Association Assouketene Batik , Zinguinchor, Senegal. We organised a joint ‘Outsider Art festival’, celebrating the creative abilities , and in challenging the stereotypes of autistic and learning-disabled individuals ‘not’ being creative. Two exhibitions held at the same time: one in The Horsfall gallery, Manchester, England; and one in Zinguinchor, Senegal. Here we are posting some of the wonderful creative work by our partners from Association Assouketene Batik.

Rhia a young Autistic individual has been exploring how she thinks people see her ( traffic lights = challenging, difficult, anxious) and how she sees people (surrounding her, becoming obstacles, creating anxiety)
